Thoughts run wild

These are some of the things I think about when I'm sitting all alone at home and when PHCN has ran out of fuel....

If something in the future is cancelled, what is cancelled? What has
really happened? Something that didn't occur yet is now never going
to occur at all. Does that qualify as an event?

There's a place you've never seen, but for many years you've pictured it in your mind, then you finally get to see it. My question is this; after you leave, do you continue to picture it the old way?

Imagine a place called COCKS; a non existent village in Nigeria. See it in your mind.....picture a few details....the colour of the sky, the scent in the air, the colour of the soil....etc. OK, now COCKS ceases to exist. Is your picture of the original, non existent country different from what it looks like now that it ceases to exist? Why? They're both non existent.

OK, picture COCKS again, the original way. Now COCKS is invaded by a neighbouring village, "FUCKING" Now Picture FUCKING. It's completely different from COCKS.
Different geography, different ethnic group, beliefs, way of life, government, everything different. Seen it in your head? Now, "FUCKING" invades COCKS and occupies it, and begins to make some changes. Now picture COCKS again. Does it look different? Isn't that weird? It looks a little like FUCKING right?

Here's another one. You've never been to your friend's place of work, but you've pictured it. Then he changes jobs, but it's a similar job. Do you bother to change your mental picture of where he works? And by how much?

Or your friend works at Chicken Republic and gets transferred to a different Chicken Republic. Do you picture a whole new Chicken Republic? Or do you get lazy and say, "They're all pretty much the same, so I'll just go with the old one."

If a radio station moves its studio across town, hires all new disk jockeys, and changes the style of music it plays, but keeps the same frequency, suppose they change only the music? Is it still the same radio station?

People say, "I'm going to sleep now," as if it were nothing. But it's bizarre activity. For the next several hours, while the sun is down, I'm going to become unconscious, temporarily lose command of everything I know and understand and when the sun returns, I will continue my life."

Supposedly if you didn't know what sleep was, and you had only seen it in a new fiction movie, would think it was weird and tell all your friends about that scene in  movie you saw?

"They had these people, you know? And they would walk around lay and be OK. And then, once a day, usually after dark, they would lie down on these special platforms and become unconscious. They would stop functioning almost completely, except deep in their dreams they would have adventures and experiences that were impossible in real life. As they lay there, completely vulnerable to their enemies, their only movements were to occasionally change one position to another or, if one of the 'mind adventures' got too real, they would sit up and scream and be glad they weren't unconscious anymore. Then they would drink a lot of coffee."

So, next time you see someone sleeping, just pretend you're in a science fiction movie and whisper in his/her ear "what does that RED button do?" and wait for him/her to self destruct

They say yawning is contagious; so is it possible to actually yawn just by seeing a picture of someone yawning? Ok in 5..4..3..2..1 YAWN!!!
